Shopping and ordering
Do I need a medical card to shop at Upstate Canna Co.?
No. Adults 21 and older can buy adult-use cannabis with a valid government-issued photo ID. Medical patients can still shop with us under the adult-use rules; a medical card is not required.
What ID is accepted?
A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older: driver’s license, non-driver state ID, passport, or military ID. Out-of-state IDs are fine if current. Photos or copies of an ID are not accepted.
How much cannabis can I buy in New York?
New York allows adults 21 and older to purchase up to three ounces of cannabis flower and up to 24 grams of concentrated cannabis per transaction. Our checkout system keeps every order within those limits.
How do I place an order online?
Browse the live menu, add products to your cart, and choose pickup or delivery at checkout. For pickup, wait for the ready notice before heading over. For delivery, enter your full address to see your minimum and available windows.
Can I return a cannabis product?
State cannabis regulations do not allow returns once a product leaves the store. If there is a problem with an item or an order, contact our team at (518) 280-4289 and we will look into it and do our best to make it right.
What are your store hours?
Monday through Friday 9am to 11pm, Saturday 11am to 11pm, and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Hours can change on holidays, so check our Google Business Profile or call (518) 280-4289 before a holiday visit.
Where is the store?
We are at 1613 Union St, Schenectady, NY 12309, on Upper Union Street east of Union College toward Niskayuna. The Visit page has directions and more details.
What are the delivery minimums?
It depends on your ZIP. Zone 1, covering Schenectady city, Scotia, Glenville, Rotterdam 12306, Niskayuna and Colonie 12205, has a $50 minimum. All other covered ZIPs have a $100 minimum.
Using cannabis responsibly
Should I try CBD?
CBD may suit people who want some of what cannabis offers without strong intoxicating effects. We do not make medical claims, but our team can explain the difference between CBD-dominant, balanced and THC-dominant products so you can decide.
Will cannabis make me paranoid?
Some people feel anxious with higher THC doses, especially when new to cannabis. Starting low, choosing balanced or lower-THC products, and being in a comfortable setting all help. Tell our staff if this has happened to you before.
Can I consume cannabis in the store or parking lot?
No. The store is a retail shop, not a consumption lounge, so on-site use is not permitted. New York law also prohibits smoking or vaping cannabis in a vehicle, even a parked one, and anywhere tobacco smoking is banned.
Can I take cannabis out of New York?
No. Transporting cannabis across state lines is illegal under federal law, even into another state where cannabis is legal. Purchases should stay in New York.
Do you have a loyalty program?
Yes. The Canna Club gives one point per dollar spent, redeemable for $5, $25, $60 or $100 off in store. Joining is free.
Is it safe to drive after using cannabis?
No. Driving while impaired by cannabis is illegal and dangerous. Plan a ride, wait until effects have fully passed, and remember edible effects can last several hours.
What should I do if someone eats too much?
Stay calm, keep them comfortable and hydrated, and call the Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222 for guidance. If someone has trouble breathing, chest pain, or is unresponsive, call 9-1-1 right away. Children or pets who eat cannabis need immediate attention.
