The short version: shop the live menu, enter your full address, meet the minimum for your ZIP ($50 in Schenectady city, Scotia, Rotterdam 12306, Niskayuna and Colonie 12205; $100 elsewhere), pick a delivery window, and have a valid 21+ photo ID ready when the driver arrives.
What should I check before ordering?
Three things: whether your ZIP is covered, what your minimum is, and whether someone 21 or older with ID will be home during the window you pick. The quickest way to handle the first two is the ZIP finder on our delivery page, which returns your zone and minimum instantly.
Upstate Canna Co. delivers to 71 ZIP codes from its single store on Union Street. Inside the city of Schenectady, every ZIP is in Zone 1: Union College and Upper Union (12308), Hamilton Hill (12307), Bellevue and Woodlawn (12304), Downtown and the Stockade (12305), and Mont Pleasant (12303). Those all carry a $50 minimum. So do Niskayuna (12309), Scotia and Glenville (12302), Rotterdam (12306) and Colonie (12205).
The third check is the one people skip. Delivery cannot be left at the door or handed to a roommate who is under 21. If you are not sure you will be home, pickup is the safer bet.
How do I place a delivery order?
Open the live menu. It shows what is in stock right now at the Union Street store, with current prices and any deals. Add what you want. If you are new to a category, the product pages list THC content and, for many items, terpene details from the lab results.
At checkout, choose delivery and type your complete address, including apartment or unit number. The system confirms your address is eligible, applies your zone’s minimum, and shows the delivery windows available that day. Windows depend on how many orders are already scheduled and how many drivers are out, so ordering earlier gives you more choices.
Tip: add delivery notes. A line like “side door, second-floor unit, buzzer broken, text on arrival” saves more time than anything else you can do.
New York purchase limits apply to delivery just as they do in store: up to three ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrate per order. If your cart goes over, checkout will not let the order through.
What happens at the store after I order?
A staff member pulls every item from inventory, checks it against your order, and seals it in compliant packaging. Products stay in their state-compliant labeled packaging, and the order is sealed before it goes out. You will get order updates through the contact details you gave at checkout.
Then the order goes out with a driver on a route that may include other deliveries in your area. That is part of why windows exist rather than exact times.
What happens when the driver arrives?
The driver will ask for a valid, physical government-issued photo ID for the person receiving the order, and that person must be 21 or older. A driver’s license, non-driver ID, passport or military ID all work. A photo of your ID on your phone does not, and neither does an expired card.
The driver cannot hand the order to anyone under 21 or anyone without valid ID. Plan for the person who placed the order to be there. When the handoff is not possible, the order returns to the store and you will need to contact us to sort out next steps.
What slows a delivery down?
Most delays come from a handful of avoidable issues:
- Missing unit numbers. Multi-family houses in Hamilton Hill, the Stockade and Bellevue are common, and a missing unit number means the driver has to call.
- Nobody at the door. Drivers can wait only briefly before moving to the next stop.
- ID problems. An expired license at the door stops the order cold.
- Late orders on busy nights. Friday and Saturday evening windows fill first.
- Outer-zone addresses. Orders to Saratoga Springs, the Helderbergs or Amsterdam involve longer drives, so fewer windows may be available.
What if something is wrong after delivery?
Call the store at (518) 280-4289. New York rules do not allow returns of cannabis products once they leave the dispensary, but the team will look at what happened and work with you on a fix.
Your order also earns Canna Club points, one per dollar on the pretax total after discounts. You cannot redeem rewards on a delivery, but they are waiting for you in store. See how the Canna Club works.
Is pickup ever the better choice?
Yes, if you are already out, if you want to use Canna Club rewards, or if you need something tonight after the last delivery window has filled. The store at 1613 Union St is open until 11pm Monday through Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday. Order ahead and your bag is packed before you arrive. Store hours and directions.
